...SNOW SHOWERS WILL RESULT IN DIFFICULT TRAVEL CONDITIONS IN THE
SNOWBELT TONIGHT INTO TUESDAY MORNING...

SNOW SHOWERS OFF LAKE SUPERIOR WILL AFFECT THE SNOWBELT OF NORTH-
CENTRAL WISCONSIN OVERNIGHT. IN ADDITION TO THE SNOW SHOWERS...
GUSTY WEST WINDS WILL PRODUCE SOME BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF THE
SNOW. AS A RESULT...DIFFICULT TRAVEL CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED
TONIGHT. WIND CHILL INDICES ARE ALSO EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM ZERO
TO 10 BELOW OVERNIGHT.

THE SNOW SHOWERS DURING MUCH OF THE DAY MONDAY WERE NOT NEARLY AS
WIDESPREAD OR AS HEAVY AS INITIALLY EXPECTED. BUT THEY BEGAN TO
AFFECT FAR NORTHERN VILAS COUNTY MORE CONSISTENTLY DURING THE MID-
AFTERNOON...AND HAVE CONTINUED IN THAT AREA INTO THE EVENING.
THUS FAR...THE LOWEST VISIBILITY REPORTED ON ANY OF THE 4 AIRPORT
OBSERVING SYSTEMS IN THE COUNTY WAS AT LAND O LAKES IN THE
NORTHEAST PART OF THE COUNTY.

EARLY EVENING RADAR AND SATELLITE DATA SUGGEST THE SNOW BANDS
COMING OFF LAKE SUPERIOR WERE TAKING ON MORE OF A NORTHWEST TO
SOUTHEAST ORIENTATION THAN EARLIER TODAY. THIS SHOULD ALLOW THE
HEAVIER SNOWS TO BEING PUSHING FARTHER SOUTH INTO VILAS COUNTY
DURING THE EVENING. A SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL IS STILL EXPECTED
OVERNIGHT AND INTO EARLY TUESDAY MORNING...ESPECIALLY OVER THE
NORTHERN PART OF THE COUNTY.

SNOW SHOWERS MAY AFFECT OTHER LOCATIONS IN NORTH-CENTRAL WISCONSIN
AS WELL...BUT ONLY A MINOR ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED OUTSIDE OF THE
SNOWBELT.
