...PATCHY DENSE FOG ACROSS THE AREA THIS MORNING...

LIGHT WINDS IN THE WAKE OF YESTERDAYS RAINS ALLOWED SOME FOG TO
FORM OVERNIGHT. ALTHOUGH THE VISIBILITY AT MOST LOCATIONS WAS
STILL SUFFICIENT FOR SAFE TRAVEL AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS...SOME PATCHES
OF DENSE FOG WITH VISIBILITIES BELOW 1/4 MILE LIKELY EXIST ACROSS
CENTRAL AND PORTIONS OF NORTH-CENTRAL AND EAST-CENTRAL WISCONSIN.

MORNING COMMUTERS SHOULD BE ALERT FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF
ENCOUNTERING BANKS OF DENSE FOG. THE DENSE FOG WILL BE MOST
LIKELY IN LOW-LYING AREAS AND NEAR RIVERS AND STREAMS. IF YOU
ENCOUNTER A FOG BANK WHILE DRIVING...SLOW YOUR VEHICLE TO THE
POINT WHERE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SAFELY STOP IF YOU ENCOUNTER AN
OBJECT OR ANIMAL ON THE ROAD. ALWAYS USE LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS WHEN
DRIVING IN FOG.

IN SITUATIONS SUCH AS THIS...CONDITIONS ARE OFTEN THE MOST
HAZARDOUS THE FIRST HOUR OR TWO AFTER SUNRISE...WHEN THE SUN
STARTS TO ILLUMINATE THE TOP OF THE SHALLOW FOG LAYER.
