...PATCHY DENSE FOG EXPECTED THIS MORNING...

LIGHT WINDS IN THE WAKE OF YESTERDAYS RAINS WERE ALLOWING FOG TO
FORM OVER CENTRAL WISCONSIN. VISIBILITIES WERE DECREASING.
ALTHOUGH THE VISIBILITY AT AIRPORT REPORTING SITES WERE STILL
ABOVE 1/2 MILE...SOME PATCHES OF DENSE FOG WITH VISIBILITIES BELOW
1/4 MILE LIKELY ALREADY EXIST IN CENTRAL WISCONSIN. THEY COULD
EXPAND INTO NORTH-CENTRAL WISCONSIN DURING THE PRE-DAWN HOURS.

EARLY MORNING COMMUTERS ACROSS CENTRAL AND NORTH-CENTRAL WISCONSIN
SHOULD BE ALERT FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF ENCOUNTER BANKS OF DENSE
FOG. THE DENSE FOG WILL BE MOST LIKELY IN LOW-LYING AREAS AND NEAR
RIVERS AND STREAMS. IF YOU ENCOUNTER A FOG BANK WHILE
DRIVING...SLOW YOUR VEHICLE TO THE POINT WHERE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO
SAFELY STOP IF YOU ENCOUNTER AN OBJECT OR ANIMAL ON THE ROAD.
ALWAYS USE LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS WHEN DRIVING IN FOG.

IN SITUATIONS SUCH AS THIS...VISIBILITIES ARE LIKELY THE POOREST
THE FIRST HOUR AFTER SUNRISE...WHEN THE SUN STARTS TO ILLUMINATE
THE TOP OF THE SHALLOW FOG LAYER.
