...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL POSSIBLE AT TIMES TONIGHT...

A band of mixed snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain will lift
north of the region by 8 pm. Little snow or sleet accumulation
is expected. However, the combination of air temperatures a few
degrees above freezing and a frozen ground has caused road temperatures
to fall to or slightly below freezing early this evening. The
liquid precipitation has begun to freeze on area roads across
Forest and Florence counties. In Florence County, there have been
several cars sliding off the road due to the icy conditions.
Untreated roads, bridges and sidewalks may be slippery, thus extra
caution should be used if outdoors tonight into Saturday morning.

Areas of fog should redevelop later this evening and overnight,
and may become dense in spots. The dense fog may also deposit a
thin layer of ice on roads, bridges, parking lots and sidewalks
as both air and road temperatures drop slightly below freezing.

If you have travel plans tonight into early Saturday morning,
slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination. If
you encounter dense fog, use your low beam headlights. For
the latest road report, dial 511.

...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS MAY RETURN LATER TONIGHT...

Areas of fog should should continue tonight and may become dense
in spots later this evening and overnight. In addition, drizzle is
expected at times through the night which may freeze on roads,
bridges, parking lots and sidewalks later tonight into early
Saturday morning as air and road temperatures drop to around the
freezing mark. Even if air temperatures are a few degrees above
freezing, the cold pavement temperatures may still create some
icy spots.

If you have travel plans tonight into early Saturday morning,
slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination. If
you encounter dense fog, use your low beam headlights. For
the latest road report, dial 511.
