FLOOD ADVISORY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GRAND RAPIDS MI
1147 AM EST TUE FEB 9 2016

...The flood advisory continues for the following rivers in Southwest
Lower Michigan...

Maple River At Maple Rapids affecting Clinton County

.A large upper low will continue to provide a feed of arctic air
into the Great Lakes Region this week. In addition, snow showers will
be possible each day with some heavy snow within 30 miles of Lake
Michigan. As snowfall is the main form of precipitation, temperatures
will not support runoff. The main concern going through the next week
will be ice build up on streams and rivers. High river levels and
possible icing could result in fluctuations over the next several
days. Residents living near streams and rivers are encouraged to keep
up with the latest river forecasts as they are updated. The following
forecast is based on observed and forecast 24 hour precipitation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

A flood advisory means minor flooding is possible and rivers are
forecast to exceed bankfull. If you are in the advisory area remain
alert to possible flooding... or the possibility of the advisory
being upgraded to a warning. Report observed flooding to local
emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this
information on to the National Weather Service.

Stay tuned to further developments by listening to your local
radio... television... or NOAA Weather Radio for further information.
