.Colder air continues to work into the region. Lake effect snow
is expected into the weekend with light precipitation. This
should help limit flooding resulting from recent rainfall.
The following forecast is based on observed and forecast 48 hour
For the Portage River Near Vicksburg... Minor flooding was
occurring... with a stage of 5.1 feet measured at 9 PM Wednesday.
Flood stage is 5.0 feet.At 5.0 feet... Expect overflows into wooded
areas and farmland adjacent to the river.
For the Grand River At Eaton Rapids... the latest stage was 3.9 feet
at 8 AM Wednesday. No flooding is forecast. The maximum stage
forecasted is 5.0 feet tomorrow early afternoon. Flood stage is 6.0
feet. At 5.0 feet... River is bankfull. Expect minor overflow into
low lying areas..
For the Grand River At Grand Rapids... the latest stage was 8.4 feet
at 10 PM Wednesday. No flooding is forecast. The maximum stage
forecasted is 12.3 feet early Monday morning. Flood stage is 18.0
