HYDROLOGIC STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GRAND RAPIDS MI
1204 PM EST THU MAR 2 2017

...Water levels are high or forecast to have significant rises for
the following rivers or creeks:  Grand River at Eaton Rapids...Grand
Rapids...Red Cedar at Williamston...East Lansing...Flat River at
Smyrna...

.Cold air and lake effect snow expected into the weekend with
light frozen precipitation. This should help limit the minor
flooding due to the rain over the last 2 days. The following forecast
is based on observed and forecast 48 hour precipitation.

For the Grand River At Eaton Rapids... the latest stage was 3.8 feet
at 8 AM Thursday. No flooding is forecast. The maximum stage
forecast is 4.2 feet Thursday morning. Flood stage is 6.0 feet.
At 5.0 feet... River is bankfull. Expect minor overflow into low
lying areas.

For the Grand River At Grand Rapids... the latest stage was 8.8 feet
at 11 AM Thursday. No flooding is forecast. The maximum stage
forecast is 11.7 feet Monday morning. Flood stage is 18.0 feet.

For the Red Cedar River Above Williamston... the latest stage was 6.8
feet at 11 AM Thursday. No flooding is forecast. The maximum stage
forecast is 6.9 feet this afternoon. Flood stage is 9.0 feet.

For the Red Cedar River At East Lansing... the latest stage was 5.9
feet at 11 AM Thursday. No flooding is forecast. The maximum stage
forecast is 6.1 feet tomorrow morning. Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
At 6.0 feet... River reaches bankfull and low lying areas flood.

For the Flat River Near Smyrna... the latest stage was 5.0 feet at 10
AM Thursday. No flooding is forecast. The maximum stage forecast
is 5.2 feet Saturday early afternoon. Flood stage is 8.5 feet.

Safety message... Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
