...Water levels are high or forecast to have significant rises for
the following rivers or creeks: Sycamore Creek at Holt...Maple River
at Maple Rapids...
.Rainfall is expected across Lower Michigan today and could result
in around 0.50 of an inch when all is said and done. Rainfall amounts
will result in river rises, but there is question with regards to
the extent. Modest within bank rises are almost certain with near
bankfull levels possible over the next couple of days. A short dry
period will settle in Thursday before additional rainfall approaches
the area by Friday. The following forecast is based on observed and
forecast 48 hour precipitation.
For the Sycamore Creek At Holt... the latest stage was 3.7 feet at 9
AM Wednesday. No flooding is forecast. The maximum stage
forecasted is 6.0 feet tomorrow morning. Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
At 6.0 feet... Flooding begins in low lying areas along the creek and
at the Lansing Municipal Golf Course and Scott Woods Park..
For the Maple River At Maple Rapids... the latest stage was 5.1 feet
at 9 AM Wednesday. No flooding is forecast. The maximum stage
forecasted is 7.0 feet Saturday early afternoon. Flood stage is 9.0
feet. At 7.0 feet... River is bankfull. Expect minor flooding in low
lying pastures, farmland, and wooded areas adjacent to the river..
