THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NORTHERN INDIANA HAS CANCELLED
THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY.

THE THREAT FOR HEAVIER SNOWFALL APPEARS TO HAVE DIMINSHED ACROSS
FAR NORTHERN INDIANA. SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS CAN BE EXPECTED INTO
THIS EVENING WITH LOCAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES POSSIBLE.

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EST FRIDAY...

HAZARDOUS WEATHER...

 * ACCUMULATIONS: LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS WITH STORM TOTAL SNOW
   ACCUMULATIONS OF 4 TO 7 SNOW EXPECTED BY LATE TONIGHT.
   LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS CASS COUNTY AND
   THE NORTHERN PORTIONS OF BERRIEN COUNTY. MOST OF THE SNOW
   ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED FROM MID MORNING THROUGH THIS
   EVENING. SNOWFALL RATES OF AN INCH PER HOUR CAN BE EXPECTED
   WITH THE HEAVIER LAKE EFFECT SNOW BANDS.

 * TIMING: LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS WILL INTENSIFY TODAY AND
   PERSIST THROUGH THIS EVENING BEFORE DIMINISHING OVERNIGHT.

 * WEST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WITH SOME GUSTS TO 30 MPH WILL
   CONTINUE THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON BEFORE DIMINISHING TONIGHT.
   BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW ALONG WITH PERIODS OF SIGNIFICANTLY
   REDUCED VISIBILITIES ARE EXPECTED FROM MID MORNING THROUGH
   THIS EVENING.

IMPACTS...

 * ROADS WILL BECOME SNOW COVERED...SLICK AND HAZARDOUS CREATING
   DANGEROUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS. THIS WILL INCLUDE HIGHWAYS 31
   AND 33 AND POSSIBLY PORTIONS OF INTERSTATE 94.

 * THE COMBINATION OF THE HEAVIER LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS AND
   STRONG WINDS MAY CREATE NEAR WHITEOUT CONDITIONS AT TIMES.

 * COLD TEMPERATURES ARE ALSO EXPECTED WITH WIND CHILLS BETWEEN
   ZERO AND 10 ABOVE ZERO.

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING.  SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF
SNOW ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ONLY TRAVEL IN
AN EMERGENCY. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL...KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT...
FOOD...AND WATER IN YOUR VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER...

 * ACCUMULATIONS: LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO BRING
   STORM TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 5 INCHES BY LATE
   TONIGHT WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE. MOST OF THE
   SNOW ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED FROM MID MORNING THROUGH THIS
   EVENING. THE GREATEST ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED WEST OF
   INTERSTATE 69.

 * TIMING: LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS WILL INTENSIFY TODAY AND
   CONTINUE INTO THIS EVENING. THE SNOW SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO
   DIMINISH LATER TONIGHT.

 * WEST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH THROUGH EARLY THIS EVENING WILL
   CAUSE AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW AND REDUCED
   VISIBILITIES...MAKING TRAVEL DIFFICULT AT TIMES.

 * ROADS WILL BE SNOW COVERED...SLICK AND HAZARDOUS CREATING
   DANGEROUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS. THIS MAY INCLUDE PORTIONS OF
   HIGHWAYS 131 AND 12.

 * THE COMBINATION OF THE HEAVIER LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS AND
   STRONG WINDS WILL CREATE SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED VISIBILITIES
   AT TIMES AND DANGEROUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS.
