OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...High pressure of 30.2 inches from the central Great
Lakes to the lower Ohio Valley will move to the Atlantic Coast
by Friday evening. Low pressure will move across Hudson Bay Friday
with a trailing cold front moving down the lake Friday night.
This front will become stationary over the southern tip of the
lake Saturday as low pressure of 29.6 inches develops over Iowa.
This low will lift across the middle Mississippi Valley Saturday
afternoon and evening causing the front to surge back north as a
warm front. The low will continue northeast across the lake
Saturday night while dragging another cold front across the lake
by Sunday morning.

.FRIDAY NIGHT...West winds 10 to 15 kt becoming northeast 15 to
25 kt late. Chance of showers. Waves 2 to 4 ft.
.SATURDAY...East winds 15 to 25 kt increasing to 30 kt. Chance of
showers in the morning...then showers and thunderstorms in the
afternoon. Waves 4 to 6 ft occasionally to 8 ft.
.SATURDAY NIGHT...Southeast winds to 30 kt becoming southwest
gales to 40 kt overnight. Showers and thunderstorms in the
evening...then showers likely overnight. Waves 4 to 6 ft
occasionally to 8 ft building to 6 to 9 ft occasionally to 12 ft.
.SUNDAY...Northwest gales to 45 kt diminishing to gales to 40 kt.
Chance of showers. Waves 7 to 10 ft occasionally to 13 ft.
.SUNDAY NIGHT...Northwest winds to 30 kt becoming west 10 to
20 kt overnight. Waves 4 to 7 ft occasionally to 9 ft subsiding
to 3 to 5 ft.
