OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...High pressure of 30.2 inches from the central Great
Lakes to the lower Ohio Valley will move to the Atlantic Coast
this evening. Low pressure will move across Hudson Bay today with
a trailing cold front moving south across most the lake tonight.
This front will become stationary over the southern tip of the
lake Saturday as low pressure of 29.6 inches develops over Iowa.
This low will lift across the middle Mississippi Valley Saturday
afternoon and evening causing the front to surge back north as a
warm front. The low will continue northeast across the lake
Saturday night while dragging another cold front across the lake
by Sunday morning.

.TONIGHT...West winds 10 to 15 kt veering to northeast 10 to
20 kt. Chance of showers. Waves 2 to 4 ft.
.SATURDAY...East winds to 30 kt. Chance of showers in the
morning...then showers in the afternoon. Waves 4 to 6 ft
occasionally to 8 ft.
.SATURDAY NIGHT...Southeast winds to 30 kt becoming south gales
to 35 kt. Showers. Waves 4 to 7 ft occasionally to 9 ft building
to 6 to 9 ft occasionally to 12 ft overnight.
.SUNDAY...Northwest gales to 45 kt. Chance of showers. Waves 8 to
11 ft occasionally to 14 ft.
.SUNDAY NIGHT...Northwest winds to 30 kt diminishing to 10 to
20 kt overnight. Waves 5 to 8 ft occasionally to 10 ft subsiding
to 3 to 5 ft overnight.
.MONDAY...West winds 10 to 20 kt. Waves 1 to 3 ft.
.TUESDAY...West winds to 30 kt. Waves 4 to 7 ft occasionally to
9 ft subsiding to 3 to 5 ft in the afternoon.

evening...then showers with a chance of thunderstorms overnight.

.SATURDAY...Southeast winds 15 to 25 kt. Showers with a chance of
thunderstorms. Waves 3 to 5 ft.
.SATURDAY NIGHT...South gales to 35 kt becoming southwest gales
to 40 kt. Showers with thunderstorms likely in the evening...then
showers overnight. Waves 4 to 7 ft occasionally to 9 ft building
to 7 to 10 ft occasionally to 13 ft overnight.
.SUNDAY...Northwest gales to 40 kt. Chance of showers in the
morning. Waves 8 to 12 ft occasionally to 16 ft.
.SUNDAY NIGHT...Northwest winds to 30 kt. Waves 7 to 10 ft
occasionally to 13 ft subsiding to 4 to 7 ft occasionally to 9 ft
overnight.
.MONDAY...West winds 10 to 20 kt. Waves 2 to 4 ft subsiding to
1 to 3 ft in the afternoon.
