NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

  WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

   THUNDERSTORMS...THE STRONGEST OF WHICH MAY PRODUCE:

    FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.
    PERIODS OF HEAVY RAINFALL.

  AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

   SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO OVERSPREAD THE AREA
   FROM THE WEST STARTING MAINLY THIS AFTERNOON...AND LASTING
   THOUGH TONIGHT.

 DISCUSSION:

   LOW PRESSURE WILL DEVELOP OVER THE MID MISSOURI VALLEY THIS
   AFTERNOON AMPLIFYING WARM AND MOIST ADVECTION INTO THE UPPER
   MIDWEST. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO SPREAD EAST
   INTO THE FORECAST AREA THIS AFTERNOON WITH PERIODS OF VERY
   HEAVY RAIN POSSIBLE THIS EVENING AND OVERNIGHT. LOCALIZED
   FLOODING AND RISES ON AREA STREAMS AND RIVERS TO FLOOD STAGE
   IS A POSSIBILITY.

MINOR FLOODING WILL CONTINUE ALONG PORTIONS OF THE KANKAKEE RIVER
IN NORTHWEST INDIANA.

WATERS STARTING LATE TONIGHT.
