...A Look Back at the Climate for the Month of September 2017 for
Chicago and Rockford...

At Chicago, the average high temperature was 79.7 degrees, which
is 4.9 degrees above normal. The average low temperature was 59.1
degrees, which is 4.8 degrees above normal. The average
temperature for the month was 69.4 degrees which is 4.8 degrees
above normal. During the month of September, 0.32 inches of
precipitation were recorded, which is 2.89 inches below normal.

Eight daily records were set for Chicago for the month of
September 2017:
* Record daily maximum temperatures on the 20th-26th.
* 9/20: 92 degrees
    * 9/21: 94 degrees
    * 9/22: 94 degrees
    * 9/23: 95 degrees
    * 9/24: 93 degrees
    * 9/25: 92 degrees
    * 9/26: 92 degrees
* Record daily highest minimum temperature of 72 degrees on the
  23rd.

At Rockford, the average high temperature was 79.1 degrees, which
is 3.7 degrees above normal. The average low temperature was 53.8
degrees, which is 1.4 degrees above normal. The average temperature
for the month was 66.5 degrees, which is 2.6 degrees above
normal. During the month of September, 0.51 inches of
precipitation were recorded, which is 2.84 inches below normal.

There were 2 daily records for Rockford for the month of
September 2017:
* Record daily highest minimum temperature of 67 degrees on the 22nd.
* Record daily maximum temperature of 93 degrees on the 23rd.
