...LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS FOR THE SOUTHERN AND WESTERN CHICAGO
SUBURBS LIKELY TO CONTINUE INTO EARLY THIS AFTERNOON...

WHILE THE WIDESPREAD LIGHT SNOW IS COMING TO AN END ACROSS THE
WESTERN AND SOUTHERN CHICAGO METRO AREA...BANDS OF LAKE EFFECT
SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE MORNING. SOME OF THE MORE WELL
DEFINED BANDS OF LAKE EFFECT SNOW EXTEND INLAND FROM THE
LAKEFRONT TO AS FAR SOUTHWEST AS CHANNAHON AND WILMINGTON IN
SOUTHEASTERN WILL COUNTY AND HERSCHER AND BONFIELD IN WESTERN
KANKAKEE COUNTY. WEAKER BANDS ARE MOVING THROUGH NORTHERN WILL AND
DUPAGE COUNTIES. PER LATEST RADAR TRENDS...MOST OF THE BANDS ARE
SLOWLY MOVING TO THE SOUTH...WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A MORE
PERSISTENT BAND FROM CRETE TO PEOTONE TO MANTENO...WHICH WILL
HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO BRING AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 2 INCHES OF
SNOWFALL THROUGH LATE THIS MORNING. LOCATIONS UNDER SOME OF THE
OTHER MODERATE LAKE EFFECT SNOW BANDS MAY SEE ANOTHER INCH OR SO
OF SNOW THIS MORNING. OTHERWISE...THE REMAINDER OF THE SOUTHERN
AND WESTERN SUBURBS COULD SEE ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS OF UP TO AN
INCH BY EARLY THIS AFTERNOON.
