COUNTIES UNTIL 330 AM CDT...

At 235 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Pecatonica to Capron. Movement was southeast
at 35 mph. An additional strong thunderstorm was located ahead of
this line near Kirkland and moving southeast at 25 mph.

Dime size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with
the strongest storms.

Locations impacted include...
Aurora, Rockford, St. Charles, Batavia, Belvidere, Loves Park,
Machesney Park, Geneva, Sycamore, Rochelle, Marengo, Genoa, Oregon,
Rockford Airport, DeKalb, Sugar Grove, Elburn, Hampshire and Poplar
Grove.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
