Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...Lake Superior currently is between 30.3 inch ridging
over northern Ontario and a 29.7 inch low over the Mid Mississippi
Valley. The low moves northeast into the southern end of the
Great Lakes basin while the ridging will be largely stationary.
The ridge will settle south over the Upper Great Lakes on Friday,
but weaken Friday night to 30.0 inches while the low approaches
the Northeast U.S. at 29.8 inches. Friday night, a 29.4 inch
Alberta Clipper low will approach Lake Superior, passing north of
the lake on Saturday, and continuing eastward into Quebec Saturday
night into Sunday. By Sunday evening, a 30.4 inch high will be
over the Northern Plains, reaching the Central Plains by Monday
and extending a 30.1 inch ridge over Lake Superior through Monday
night.
