Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...Weak ridging of 30.0 inches holds across eastern Lake
Superior this morning before a weak 29.9 inch trough moves into
the Upper Great Lakes this evening. Ridging at 30.1 inches
returns across the lake on Sunday. Ridging shifts east early next
week as a broad 29.2 inch low pressure develops on the Northern
Plains on Monday. A strong pressure gradient over western Lake
Superior begins to setup Tuesday morning as a deepening 29.0 inch
low pushes eastward against 30.0 inch ridging over far northern
Ontario. A secondary 29.4 inch low pressure moves into southern
Lake Superior Wednesday morning.
