HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MILWAUKEE/SULLIVAN WI
611 AM CDT TUE JUN 17 2014

...FLOODING POSSIBLE THIS WEEK...

SEVERAL ROUNDS OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN ARE EXPECTED THIS
WEEK...WHICH WILL INCREASE THE POTENTIAL FOR AREAL AND FLASH
FLOODING. RAINFALL AMOUNTS THROUGH FRIDAY WILL BE IN THE 3 TO 5
INCH RANGE...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS. THIS RAINFALL MAY ALSO
PUSH RIVERS ABOVE THEIR BANKS...EXCEEDING FLOOD STAGE.

A VERY MOIST AND UNSTABLE AIRMASS...AND A MEANDERING FRONTAL
BOUNDARY ACROSS SOUTHERN WISCONSIN AND NORTHERN ILLINOIS...WILL
PROVIDE THE FOCUS FOR THE HEAVY RAIN. SOME STORMS COULD PRODUCE 1
TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. AREAS WEST OF
MADISON HAVE SEEN AT LEAST 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAINFALL FROM THE
FIRST ROUND OF STORMS LAST NIGHT.

A SECOND ROUND OF STORMS WITH HEAVY RAINFALL IS LIKELY TUESDAY
NIGHT. ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL IS POSSIBLE AT TIMES WEDNESDAY
THROUGH FRIDAY. STAY TUNED FOR THE LATEST FORECASTS ON THE HEAVY
RAINFALL POTENTIAL.
