630 FNUS53 KMKX 072027 FWFMKX Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southern Wisconsin National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 327 PM CDT Tue May 7 2024 .DISCUSSION... Periods of showers and thunderstorms are expected through this evening. A few strong to severe storms will be possible this afternoon. Any strong to severe storm could produce large hail and some gusty winds. The potential for strong/severe storms will diminish this evening as the environment become more worked over. Dry weather is expected tonight through Wednesday morning before additional rain and a few storms develop Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday night. Little to no severe weather is anticipated Wednesday. During the dry period for the first half of the day Wednesday, minimum RH values will fall into the mid to upper 30s inland. Higher minimum RH values near 50% will be possible for areas along Lake Michigan. Variable transport winds are expected throughout the morning Wednesday before becoming easterly later in the afternoon/evening. Due to the lighter and more variable winds, vent rates and smoke dispersal is expected to be lower Wednesday around 30000 ft. Winds will pick up out of the northeast Wednesday night into Thursday which will help with the mixing height and smoke dispersal.
