.DISCUSSION...
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast this afternoon.
An isolated stronger storm with hail and gusty winds can`t be
ruled out. Total rainfall accumulations are expected to remain at
or below a quarter of an inch in most locations. Minimum relative
humidities generally between 50 and 70 percent are forecast,
though a few locations near the state line could drop into the
upper 40s given warmer high temperatures. West-southwest
transport winds between 10-15 MPH are forecast away from Lake
Michigan, combining with mixing heights between 2000-3000 feet AGL
to support generally fair to good smoke dispersal conditions.
South to southeast transport winds are expected near Lake Michigan
given the lake breeze, combining with mixing heights between 750
and 1500 feet AGL to support poor to fair smoke dispersal
conditions.
Precip-free conditions will prevail on Sunday. Minimum relative
humidities will generally range between 35 and 50 percent, with
readings in the lower 30s possible in any locations experiencing
milder high temperatures than currently forecast. Mixing heights
will range between 3000-4500 feet AGL away from Lake Michigan,
combining with light/variable transport winds to support fair
smoke dispersal conditions. Mixing heights will remain lower near
Lake Michigan given cooler high temperatures, resulting in
generally poor to fair smoke dispersal conditions.
