URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...FIRST ACCUMULATING SNOW OF THE SEASON TODAY...

.SNOW WILL SPREAD ACROSS SOUTHERN WISCONSIN THIS MORNING...AND
TAPER OFF DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING. THIS WILL BE THE
FIRST WIDESPREAD ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL OF THE SEASON. SNOWFALL
WILL RANGE FROM TWO AND A HALF INCHES BY THE LAKE SHORE TO 3 TO 5
INCHES MOST INLAND AREAS.

THE SNOW WILL CAUSE REDUCED VISIBILITIES AND SLIPPERY CONDITIONS.
DRIVERS TEND TO UNDERESTIMATE THE EFFECT OF THE SNOW ON ROADWAYS
DURING THE FIRST SNOWFALL OF THE SEASON. RULE NUMBER ONE TODAY IS
SLOW DOWN WHEN DRIVING IN THE SNOW. MOST ACCIDENTS OCCUR IN
LIGHTER SNOWFALL.
