...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY
AFTERNOON...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of central Upper Michigan and western Upper Michigan,
  including the following areas, in central Upper Michigan,
  Baraga and Iron. In western Upper Michigan, Gogebic,
  Ontonagon, and Southern Houghton.

* Through Thursday afternoon

* Several periods of showers and thunderstorms, some producing
  heavy rain, are expected through tonight. The heaviest
  rainfall should occur late this afternoon and tonight.

* With wet soil conditions, heavy rainfall from thunderstorms
  could lead to flash flooding of streams and low-lying areas.
  Larger rivers may also experience significant rises in water
  levels as well over the next few days. Total rainfall amounts
  from this afternoon into Thursday morning should exceed 2
  inches and could approach 3 inches at some locations.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
