...The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a Flood
Advisory for the Michigamme River...

  Michigamme River near Crystal Falls affecting Iron County

.Widespread rainfall totals in excess of 3 inches have fallen across the
Michigamme River Basin since Sunday. The continued runoff from this heavy
rainfall has caused the Michigamme River to rise above bankfull. Additional
heavy rainfall up to and possibly exceeding 1 inch is expected from late this
afternoon through Friday.


Safety message...Residents along these rivers should remain alert and
exercise caution when walking near riverbanks.

A Flood Advisory means minor flooding is possible and rivers are
forecast to exceed bankfull. If you are in the advisory area remain
alert to possible flooding...or the possibility of the advisory being
upgraded to a warning. Report observed flooding to local emergency
services or law enforcement and request they pass this information on
to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a
* Flood Advisory for
  The Michigamme River near Crystal Falls.
* until Saturday afternoon.
* At  7 AM Thursday the stage was 7.2 feet and steady.
* Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* At 8.0 feet...3700 cfs - River begins to flood additional low lying
  areas along the river bank.
* At 7.0 feet...2700 cfs - River exceeds bankfull stage.
