This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of western Upper
Michigan and central Upper Michigan.

.DAY ONE...Tonight

A wintry mix of freezing drizzle and light snow will be possible
tonight over parts of the western U.P. This may lead to slippery
travel at times overnight. The heaviest snow accumulations are
expected this evening across the Keweenaw Peninsula. See the
latest winter weather statement and special weather statement for
details.

South winds gusting as high as 30 mph this evening will lead to
larger waves, possibly causing minor lakeshore flooding and beach
erosion along the Lake Michigan shoreline.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

A strong low pressure system is expected to develop over the
eastern Great Lakes Saturday with blustery north to northwest
winds developing Saturday into Saturday night along with some
lake effect snow. The strong northwest winds, gusting near 40 mph
along the Lake Superior shoreline east of Marquette and over the
tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula, will generate high waves which
could lead to minor lakeshore flooding and beach erosion.

Another round of gusty northwest winds will bring light to
moderate lake effect snow along with large wave Tuesday into
Tuesday night. This may lead to additional minor lakeshore
flooding and beach erosion.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters are encouraged to submit snowfall or freezing drizzle
reports to the National Weather Service via phone, on our website,
or through Facebook or Twitter.
