CDT/ THIS AFTERNOON...

HAZARDOUS WEATHER...

mixed with freezing rain and sleet at times, any additional ice
accumulation will be less than one tenth of an inch.

 * Due to the snow, sleet and freezing rain, untreated roads
will become very slippery. Use caution if traveling.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

 * A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet,
or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS
EVENING...

HAZARDOUS WEATHER...

 * Freezing rain is expected into this afternoon over portions
of north central Upper Michigan with ice accumulations of up
to one-quarter of an inch expected. Isolated higher terrain
locations north and west of Negaunee and Ishpeming could see
even greater ice amounts. Rain is expected at lower
elevations closer to Lake Superior and from Gwinn southward.

 * The rain and freezing rain will mix with and change to snow
late this afternoon into this evening. Snow accumulations
will be less than 1 inch in most higher terrain areas.

IMPACTS...

 * Most of the ice accumulation will occur on elevated surfaces
such as trees and power lines. Due to the weight of the ice
on the trees, some power outages could occur.

 * Untreated roads over the higher terrain may become slippery.
   Use caution if traveling.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

 * A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet,
or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties.
