...LATE SEASON WINTER STORM TO AFFECT UPPER MICHIGAN...

.A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER THE HIGH PLAINS WILL CROSS THE UPPER
MISSISSIPPI VALLEY LATE TODAY BEFORE LIFTING ACROSS UPPER MICHIGAN ON
THURSDAY. HEAVY AND WET SNOW HAS ALREADY MOVED INTO AREAS OF UPPER
MICHIGAN ALONG THE WISCONSIN BORDER EARLY THIS AFTERNOON. AS THIS
LOW CONTINUES TO MOVE TOWARD THE REGION...THE SNOW WILL SPREAD
NORTH AND EAST AND WILL FALL HEAVY AT TIMES LATER THIS AFTERNOON
THROUGH TONIGHT INTO THURSDAY AFTERNOON. THE HIGHEST PROBABILITY FOR
PERSISTENT AND HEAVY SNOW TONIGHT WILL BE OVER WESTERN UPPER
MICHIGAN. SNOW WILL GRADUALLY DIMINISH DURING THE LATE MORNING AND
AFTERNOON ON THURSDAY AS THE LOW WEAKENS WHILE LIFTING TOWARD
ONTARIO. MANY PLACES OVER WESTERN UPPER MICHIGAN WILL SEE STORM TOTAL
SNOWFALL AROUND ONE FOOT.

   SNOW WILL THEN CONTINUE HEAVY AT TIMES THROUGH TONIGHT BEFORE
   DIMINISHING LATE THURSDAY MORNING.

 * EXPECT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES TODAY...WITH THE
   HEAVIEST AMOUNTS OVER GOGEBIC COUNTY. ADDITIONAL SNOW
   ACCUMULATIONS TONIGHT INTO THURSDAY MORNING OF 8 TO 11 INCHES
   ARE EXPECTED. STORM TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE OVER ONE FOOT
   OVER MOST OF WESTERN UPPER MICHIGAN.
