A strong cold front will move east across the listening area bringing
a 30 to 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon
and evening. A few of these storms could become strong to severe,
mainly from north central to central South Dakota. The main threats
are wind gusts between 60 to 70 mph and quarter sized hail. Warm
temperatures expected today with highs in the 80s to even around 90.
Much cooler for Saturday as a high pressure system becomes dominant
with high temperatures ranging in the upper 60s to the lower to mid
70s. Winds will be breezy out of the west to northwest, with gusts 35
to 45 mph possible, mainly over north central SD and over the Prairie
Coteau.
