THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN QUAD CITIES HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF ILLINOIS...IOWA AND
  NORTHEAST MISSOURI...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN
  ILLINOIS...HANCOCK...HENDERSON...HENRY IL...MCDONOUGH...
  MERCER...ROCK ISLAND AND WARREN. IN IOWA...BENTON...CEDAR...
  DES MOINES...HENRY IA...IOWA...JEFFERSON...JOHNSON...KEOKUK...
  LEE...LINN...LOUISA...MUSCATINE...SCOTT...VAN BUREN AND
  WASHINGTON. IN NORTHEAST MISSOURI...CLARK AND SCOTLAND.

* THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WITH LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN ARE EXPECTED
  LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...AND POSSIBLY THROUGH THE
  OVERNIGHT HOURS. MANY LOCATIONS IN THE WATCH AREA HAVE ALREADY
  RECEIVED 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN...LOCALLY HIGHER...IN THE PAST
  DAY WITH SOILS NEAR SATURATION.

* STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING VERY HIGH RAINFALL RATES.
  LOCATIONS IMPACTED BY INTENSE STORMS OR MULTIPLE ROUNDS COULD
  RECEIVE AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN...WITH ISOLATED
  AMOUNTS OF 3 TO 4 INCHES POSSIBLE. FLASH FLOODING WILL BE
  POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY IN URBAN AREAS AND NEAR RAIN SWOLLEN
  CREEKS.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT FLASH FLOODING IS POSSIBLE.
MONITOR FORECASTS AND TAKE ACTION IF FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS ARE
ISSUED OR FLASH FLOODING DEVELOPS.
