The National Weather Service in Quad Cities has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Eastern and Southern McDonough County in west central Illinois...

* Until 1230 AM CDT.

* At 637 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of
  rain have fallen since mid afternoon. Additional rainfall amounts
  of one half to 2 inches are probable in the warned area. Minor
  flooding has already been reported from trained spotters, and
  flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Bushnell, Industry, Prairie City, Bardolph, Adair, New
  Philadelphia, Pennington Point, Doddsville and Prairie City
  Airport.

This will likely also cause the La Moine River to quickly rise, as
well as other streams in the area, and flooding may occur along
these.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
