the next 48 hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find an
alternate route. Turn around, don`t drown.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Wapsipinicon River at Independence.
* Until Wednesday morning.
* At 11:30 AM Sunday the stage was 19.3 feet...and very slowly
  rising.
* Flood stage is  12 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring.
* Forecast...Currently may be near crest at or around 19.3 feet. Fall
  below flood stage Wednesday morning. Please monitor river levels
  closely!
* Impact...At  19.0 feet...Water affects the backs of businesses on
  1st Street in Independence.
