FLOOD STATEMENT

.Confidence is increasing that eventual crest levels will be lower
than previous forecasts due to observations upstream. There does
remain some uncertainty in the forecasts due to potential rainfall
tonight and Sunday. Even if crests are lower, major flooding will
occur along the Cedar River.

River forecasts include past precipitation and forecast rainfall for
the next 24 hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find an
alternate route. Turn around, don`t drown.

...Flood Warning now in effect until Friday morning...

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Cedar River at Vinton.
* Until Friday morning.
* At  4:15 PM Saturday the stage was 14.9 feet and rising.
* Flood stage is  15 feet.
* No flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage today and continue rising to
  22.0 feet Monday morning. Fall below flood stage Friday morning.
* Uncertainty remains on forecast rainfall and how water routes
  through the river system. Forecasts may change.
* Impact...At  19.5 feet water is at the bottom of the Iowa Highway
  150 bridge.

  The Cedar River at Cedar Rapids.
* Until further notice.
* At  4:00 PM Saturday the stage was 9.8 feet...and steady.
* Flood stage is  12 feet.
* No flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage Sunday morning and continue
  rising to 24.0 feet Tuesday morning.
* Uncertainty remains on forecast rainfall and how water routes
  through the river system. Forecasts may change.
* Impact...At  23.5 feet...Water reaches the bottom of the County
  Road F28 bridge deck at Cedar Bluff.

  The Cedar River near Conesville.
* Until further notice.
* At  4:00 PM Saturday the stage was 13.5 feet...and rising.
* Flood stage is  13 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise to 18.3 feet Friday morning then begin falling.
* Impact...At  18.0 feet water affects several residences in the
  Rochester area and is at the bottom of the County Road F44 bridge.
  Water also affects the lowest areas of West Rochester Avenue and
  affects residences in Moscow.
