THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF NORTH CENTRAL
ILLINOIS...NORTHWEST ILLINOIS...WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS...EAST
CENTRAL IOWA...NORTHEAST IOWA...SOUTHEAST IOWA AND NORTHEAST
MISSOURI.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

WIND CHILLS MAY APPROACH 15 BELOW ZERO LATE TONIGHT NORTH AND WEST
OF A LINE FROM DUBUQUE TO BELLE PLAINE.

ICE ACTION ON AREA TRIBUTARY RIVERS...AND ALSO ON PORTIONS OF THE
MISSISSIPPI RIVER DOWNSTREAM OF KEITHSBURG...IS CAUSING
FLUCTUATIONS AND LOCALIZED SIGNIFICANT RISES OF RIVER LEVELS. IN
SOME CASES MINOR FLOODING COULD OCCUR DUE TO ICE JAMS AND ICE
ACTION. THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER AT BURLINGTON AND GLADSTONE IS
EXPERIENCING MODERATE TO MINOR FLOODING DUE TO AN ICE JAM. THE
ROCK RIVER NEAR JOSLIN ILLINOIS IS ALSO EXPERIENCING MINOR
FLOODING FROM ICE ACTION. THOSE WITH INTERESTS NEAR AREA RIVERS
SHOULD KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON THEM.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

ANOTHER LARGER STORM SYSTEM MAY BRING MORE ROUNDS OF A WINTRY MIX
OF SNOW...SLEET...FREEZING RAIN AND REGULAR RAIN IN OR NEAR
PORTIONS OF THE OUTLOOK AREA OVER THE WEEKEND AND NEXT MONDAY.

LATEST INDICATIONS SUGGEST A WINTRY MIXTURE OF FREEZING RAIN AND
SLEET MAY MOVE UP OUT OF MISSOURI TO AREAS ALONG THE HIGHWAY 34
CORRIDOR LATE FRIDAY NIGHT AND EARLY SATURDAY MORNING AND PRODUCE
AT LEAST A LIGHT GLAZE OF ICE IN THOSE AREAS. A MORE WIDESPREAD
WINTRY MIX MAY THEN SPREAD UP ACROSS MOST OF THE OUTLOOK AREA
SUNDAY INTO SUNDAY NIGHT...WITH AT LEAST SOME MINOR ICE
ACCUMULATIONS POSSIBLE. THE LATEST INDICATIONS ALSO SUGGEST THAT
AS THE MAIN STORM SYSTEM MOVES NORTH ACROSS WESTERN AND CENTRAL
IOWA MONDAY INTO TUESDAY...THE WINTRY MIX MAY SWITCH OVER TO ALL
RAIN AS MONDAY PROGRESSES.

THERE IS STILL SOME UNCERTAINTY WITH REGARDS TO THE EXACT TRACK
AND STRENGTH OF THIS WEEKEND SYSTEM. THUS THE PRECIPITATION
TYPES...AMOUNTS AND LOCATION ARE ALSO UNCERTAIN AT THIS TIME AND
SUBJECT TO CHANGE. STAY TUNED FOR FURTHER UPDATES AND FORECASTS
CONCERNING THIS POTENTAIL WINTER STORM SYSTEM FOR THE WEEKEND AND
INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL NOT BE NEEDED TODAY OR TONIGHT.
