THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF NORTH CENTRAL
ILLINOIS...NORTHWEST ILLINOIS...WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS...EAST
CENTRAL IOWA...NORTHEAST IOWA...SOUTHEAST IOWA AND NORTHEAST
MISSOURI.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

LATE AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...ANOTHER COLD FRONT WILL CROSS THE
AREA PRODUCING AREAS OF LIGHT FREEZING RAIN OR FREEZING DRIZZLE
BEHIND THE FRONT. MOST LOCATIONS OF ANY ICING WILL OCCUR ALONG AND
NORTH OF HIGHWAY 30...WITH MOST ICE AMOUNTS BEING A TRACE TO A
GLAZE DUE TO THE LIGHT NATURE OF THE FREEZING PRECIPITATION. BUT
IT STILL MAY BE ENOUGH TO RESULT IN SLICK SURFACES IN SOME
LOCATIONS.

ICE ACTION ON AREA TRIBUTARY RIVERS...AND ALSO ON PORTIONS OF THE
MISSISSIPPI RIVER DOWNSTREAM OF KEITHSBURG...IS CAUSING
FLUCTUATIONS AND LOCALIZED SIGNIFICANT RISES OF RIVER LEVELS. IN
SOME CASES MINOR FLOODING COULD OCCUR DUE TO ICE JAMS AND ICE
ACTION. THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER AT BURLINGTON AND GLADSTONE IS
EXPERIENCING MODERATE TO MINOR FLOODING DUE TO AN ICE JAM. THOSE
WITH INTERESTS NEAR AREA RIVERS SHOULD KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON THEM...
AND RELAY REPORTS OF FLOODING.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

SOME LIGHT SNOW MAY MOVE ACROSS AREAS NORTH OF INTERSTATE 80
THURSDAY MORNING...WHILE A FEW BANDS OF LINGERING LIGHT FREEZING
RAIN OR DRIZZLE OCCUR EAST OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER. THESE
PRECIPIATION AREAS EXPECTED TO BE LIGHT BUT STILL MAY PRODUCE
LOCALIZED SLICK SPOTS THROUGH AT LEAST MID THURSDAY MORNING.

NORTH WINDS AND MUCH COLDER AIR WILL COMBINE TO PRODUCE WIND
CHILLS OF 5 BELOW...TO NEAR 15 BELOW ZERO EARLY FRIDAY MORNING
ALONG AND NORTH OF THE HIGHWAY 30 CORRIDOR.

ANOTHER LARGER STORM SYSTEM MAY BRING MORE ROUNDS OF A WINTRY MIX
OF SNOW...SLEET...FREEZING RAIN AND REGULAR RAIN IN OR NEAR
PORTIONS OF THE OUTLOOK AREA OVER THE WEEKEND AND NEXT MONDAY.
THERE IS STILL MUCH UNCERTAINTY WITH REGARDS TO THE EXACT TRACK
AND STRENGTH OF THIS SYSTEM. THUS PRECIPITATION TYPES...AMOUNTS
AND LOCATION ARE ALSO UNCERTAIN AT THIS TIME AND SUBJECT TO
CHANGE. STAY TUNED FOR FURTHER UPDATES AND FORECASTS CONCERNING
THIS POTENTAIL WINTER SYSTEM FOR THE WEEKEND AND INTO EARLY NEXT
WEEK.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL NOT BE NEEDED TODAY OR TONIGHT. REPORTS
OF ICE JAM ACTIVITY OR FLOODING ON RIVERS ARE WELCOME...AS WELL
AS ANY SIGNIFICANT ICE REPORTS FROM FREEZING RAIN LATER TODAY AND
TONIGHT.
