This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

Seasonally mild and moist air will continue to spread over the
area today and tonight. This will melt the remaining snow on the
ground, and will bring widespread fog and low clouds to the
outlook area. Some locations, especially higher elevations, may
see dense fog at times through tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

A quick drop in temperatures from the 40s to the 20s and teens on
Thursday will lead to a rapid freeze up of water from snowmelt on
untreated surfaces such as sidewalks, driveways, and parking
lots.

A brief period of mainly sleet is possible before the precipitation
ends Thursday morning into the early afternoon. However, a
greater concern is the potential for icy conditions if there is
water from the morning rain remaining on the roads as
temperatures fall through the 20s. Northwest wind gusts of 30 to
35 mph are also expected behind the cold front on Thursday.

For early next week, bitterly cold wind chills are forecast.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed today and tonight.
