...NWS DAMAGE SURVEY FOR 03/06/17 TORNADO EVENT UPDATE #3...

.OVERVIEW...A line of severe storms tracked across eastern Iowa
during the evening on March 6, 2017.  Several tornadic storms
were seen, along with widespread damaging winds as the line
moved through.

Additional information from surveys of other storms will be added
to the bottom of this statement as it becomes available.

.TORNADO # 1...Muscatine Iowa...

Tornado tracked through Muscatine touching down in Kent Stein Park,
traveling through neighborhoods, and damaging homes and businesses.
At least 2 homes lost their roofs.  Up to 80 more sustained minor
damage.

A tornado began in Muscatine county and then tracked across Scott
county. Power poles were snapped, a house lost its roof, and
numerous farm buildings and trees were damaged.

Numerous trees suffered damage along with a few destroyed out
buildings. Roofs were torn off a hog confinement farm and a
manufactured home.

A tornado touched down southwest of Bennett and tracked northeast
along a 16.7 mile path to northeast of Wheatland. A farm just
north of Bennett sustained the greatest damage where all of the
outbuildings and most of the trees were destroyed. Elsewhere along
the path, damage occurred to trees, outbuildings and power lines.

A tornado tracked from near Walcott to Goose Lake. Damage was
primarly to farm outbuildings and trees. Some power poles were
snapped off.
