ILLINOIS TODAY AND TONIGHT...

.A SIGNIFICANT STORM SYSTEM IN THE CENTRAL PLAINS WILL MOVE
NORTHEAST ACROSS EASTERN IOWA THROUGH TONIGHT...SPREADING SNOW...
SLEET...RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE AREA. AN AREA OF HEAVY
SLEET WILL CONTINUE TO LIFT NORTH THROUGH LATE MORNING...
AFFECTING LOCATIONS NEAR AND NORTH OF INTERSTATE 80. PERIODS OF
HEAVY SNOW WILL CONTINUE FARTHER NORTH NEAR HIGHWAY 20...BEFORE
TRANSITIONING TO A WINTRY MIX. PRECIPITATION WILL TAPER OFF BY
LATE AFTERNOON AND THIS EVENING. HOWEVER...ADDITIONAL LIGHT SNOW
IS EXPECTED NORTH OF THE HIGHWAY 30 CORRIDOR LATER TONIGHT...ALONG
WITH A STRONG NORTHWEST WIND AND REDUCED VISIBILITIES. THE SNOW
AND SLEET THIS MORNING WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY STRONG EAST WINDS
WHICH WILL RESULT IN AREAS OF POOR VISIBILITY AND SLICK ROADS.
