...WINTER STORM SYSTEM AFFECTING EASTERN IOWA AND NORTHWEST
ILLINOIS TODAY AND TONIGHT...

.A SIGNIFICANT STORM SYSTEM IN THE CENTRAL PLAINS WILL MOVE
NORTHEAST ACROSS EASTERN IOWA THROUGH TONIGHT...SPREADING SNOW...
SLEET...RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE AREA. AN AREA OF HEAVY
SNOW AND SLEET WILL CONTINUE TO LIFT NORTH MIDDAY... AFFECTING
LOCATIONS NEAR AND NORTH OF HIGHWAY 30. SNOW NEAR HIGHWAY
20 WILL TRANSITION TO A WINTRY MIX OR RAIN DURING THE EARLY
AFTERNOON. PRECIPITATION WILL TAPER OFF BY LATE AFTERNOON AND THIS
EVENING. HOWEVER...ADDITIONAL LIGHT SNOW IS EXPECTED NORTH OF THE
HIGHWAY 30 CORRIDOR LATER TONIGHT... ALONG WITH A STRONG NORTHWEST
WIND AND REDUCED VISIBILITIES. THE SNOW AND SLEET THIS MORNING
WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY STRONG EAST WINDS WHICH WILL RESULT IN
AREAS OF POOR VISIBILITY AND SLICK ROADS.
