790 FNUS54 KHUN 040951 FWFHUN Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Alabama National Weather Service Huntsville AL 451 AM CDT Sat May 4 2024 .DISCUSSION... Rain and embedded thunderstorms associated with a weak upper- level disturbance will continue to spread northeastward and out of northern AL after sunrise, with only isolated-widely scattered showers and storms expected this afternoon. Partly cloudy-mostly sunny skies will lead to a warm/humid day, with highs in the l-m 80s. A low chance for showers and storms will continue across the region overnight and through much of the day on Sunday, but probabilities for wetting rainfall are rather low at any single location. Smoke dispersion indices both today and tomorrow will be in the fair range across northeast AL and in the generally good range elsewhere. In the extended period, chances for wetting rainfall will increase on Sunday night/Monday morning, as a warm front lifts northward through the region, but will diminish once again from Monday afternoon-Tuesday. An active period of strong to severe thunderstorms is becoming increasingly likely from Tuesday night-Thursday. However, this will be followed by a cold front that should bring a drier and cooler airmass into the region by next weekend. Fog potential over the next few days: Patchy, locally dense fog will be possible during the early morning hours each day from today-Monday. Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
