At 841 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Crossville, or 13 miles south of Rainsville, moving east at 55 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Albertville, Fort Payne, Boaz, Crossville, Geraldine, McVille, Dog Town, Collbran, Little River Canyon NP, and Skirum. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 AM CDT for north central and northeastern Alabama. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms.
