FOR SOUTHWESTERN ALAMANCE...NORTHWESTERN MOORE...NORTHEASTERN
MONTGOMERY...EASTERN RANDOLPH...NORTHWESTERN LEE AND CHATHAM
COUNTIES...

At 918 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Siler City,
moving northeast at 60 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Sanford, Asheboro, Pittsboro, Carthage, Siler City, North Carolina
Zoo, Goldston, Seagrove, Liberty, and Ramseur.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for central North
Carolina.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency.
They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in
Raleigh.
