...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1130 PM EDT THIS
EVENING FOR SOUTHEASTERN LAWRENCE COUNTY...

At 1022 PM EDT, doppler radar indicated that prior thunderstorms had
produced heavy rain of between 1 and 2.5 inches across the warned
area. Flooding impacts will continue, but the heaviest rainfall has
exited the area.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rainfall from prior
         thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Ulysses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll
free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
