.DISCUSSION...Good morning, Cory. We anticipate the cold frontal
passage between 1600 and 1800 this afternoon, and with that expect
a wind shift to the west and then northwest behind the front.
Showers begin to develop in the area late in the morning, but
not expecting much to reach the ground until between 1200-1500.
We think a rain/snow mix at first quickly transitioning to snow,
as snow levels will start out around 8500 feet then drop to around
5500 feet by sunset. Looking for a trace to 1 inch in valleys
to 1 to 4 inches in higher elevations of the burn site.
Temperatures will remain below normal through Wednesday then begin
to slowly warm from Wednesday through the weekend. Precipitation
forecast becomes uncertain from Wednesday through the weekend.
Earlier forecasts were showing high confidence for a precipitation
free outlook, but now there is about a 25 percent chance for
afternoon showers Thursday through the weekend. We`ll see how this
evolves as we get closer. Good RH recovery is expected each night
through midweek.
