CLIMATE REPORT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BOISE ID
1122 AM MDT WED JUL 1 2015

...THE BOISE ID CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE 2015...

IT WAS THE WARMEST JUNE AT BOISE SINCE 1869. THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE
FOR THE MONTH WAS NEARLY AS WARM AS THE JULY NORMAL.

IT WAS ALSO ONE OF THE DRIEST JUNES ON RECORD. NEARLY 90 PERCENT OF
JUNES WERE WETTER.

DURING THE FIRST FIVE DAYS OF THE MONTH TWO PACIFIC WEATHER SYSTEMS
BROUGHT MEAGER AMOUNTS OF RAIN...THE ONLY MEASURABLE PRECIPITATION
FOR THE ENTIRE MONTH.

FROM THE 5TH THROUGH THE 25TH DRY WESTERLY FLOW ALOFT PREDOMINATED
...BRINGING NO MORE RAIN...JUST A FEW HIGH CLOUDS AT TIMES.

DURING THAT PERIOD DAILY HIGHS WERE CONSISTENTLY IN THE 80S AND 90S.
LOWS RANGED FROM 50 TO 70.

TRIPLE DIGIT HEAT COMMENCED ON THE 26TH WHEN AN EXTREMELY WARM UPPER
LEVEL RIDGE BLOSSOMED OVER THE GREAT BASIN AND EXPANDED NORTH OVER
IDAHO.

MONSOON MOISTURE CIRCULATING WITHIN THE RIDGE FUELED DAILY AFTERNOON
AND EVENING THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE MOUNTAINS. BUT THESE STORMS HAD
LITTLE EFFECT ON THE LOWER ELEVATIONS...OTHER THAN BRIEF GUSTY
OUTFLOW WINDS.

HIGHS EXCEEDED 100 DEGREES EVERY DAY FROM THE 26TH THROUGH THE 30TH.
THIS WAS THE FIRST OCCURRENCE OF FIVE CONSECUTIVE DAYS OF 100 OR
HIGHER ENTIRELY IN JUNE. THE 110 ON THE 28TH WAS THE HIGHEST JUNE
TEMPERATURE EVER RECORDED...AS WELL AS THE HIGHEST EVER OBSERVED SO
EARLY IN THE SEASON.

OVERNIGHT LOWS WERE ALSO UNUSUALLY WARM. DAILY RECORDS WERE BROKEN
ON THE 9TH AND 10TH WITH 70 AND 68. THE 73 ON THE 27TH TIED THE
RECORD FOR THAT DAY. AND NEW RECORDS WERE SET ON THE 28TH AND 29TH
WITH 74 AND 79.
