THE MONTHLY AVERAGE TEMPERATURE...PRECIPITATION AND SNOWFALL WERE
ALL NEAR NORMAL.

THE AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE FOR MARCH 2017 WAS LOWER THAN THE
MONTHLY AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR FEBRUARY 2017. THIS IS THE EIGHTH
TIME ON RECORD FEBRUARY AVERAGED AS WARM OR WARMER THAN MARCH...AND
THE FIRST TIME SINCE 1984.

A RECORD DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 80 DEGREES WAS SET ON THE
1ST...TYING THE RECORD PREVIOUSLY SET IN 1976.

CLIMATE RECORDS HAVE BEEN KEPT AT RONALD REAGAN NATIONAL AIRPORT
SINCE AUGUST OF 1941. ADDITIONAL TEMPERATURE RECORDS FOR THE
WASHINGTON DC AREA EXTEND BACK TO JANUARY OF 1872. PRECIPITATION
RECORDS EXTEND BACK TO JANUARY OF 1871. SNOWFALL RECORDS BEGAN IN
JANUARY OF 1884.

ALL CLIMATE DATA ARE CONSIDERED PRELIMINARY UNTIL REVIEWED BY THE
NATIONAL CENTERS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION (NCEI).
