...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING...

The National Weather Service in Albany has expanded the

* Flood Watch to include a portion of eastern New York,
  including the following area, Southern Herkimer.

* Through Thursday morning

* Anomalously warm temperatures will allow for considerable snow
  melt in the southern Adirondacks Tuesday morning into Wednesday
  night. One to three inches of snow melt is expected. In
  addition, a quarter of an inch to just over half of an inch of
  rainfall is possible today into Wednesday. Ice jam flooding is
  also possible in the watch area.

* Significant rises are expected on rivers, streams and creeks
  including the Sacandaga, Upper Hudson, and Schroon Rivers. The
  potential for flooding will increase in the warm air mass with
  the flood threat continuing into Thursday morning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
