...FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY EVENING...

.THE THIRD AND MOST POWERFUL OF THE STORMS TO IMPACT SOUTHERN
CALIFORNIA IN THIS SEQUENCE OF STORMS IS CENTERED OFF THE PACIFIC
NORTHWEST COAST EARLY THIS MORNING. IT WILL BRING PERIODS OF HEAVY
RAINFALL FOR THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH EARLY EVENING WITH PERIODS OF
SHOWERS CONTINUING THROUGH TUESDAY. THIS WILL BRING THE
POSSIBILITY OF FLASH FLOODING...MAINLY TO COASTAL AND VALLEY
AREAS...THE LOWER ELEVATIONS OF THE MOUNTAINS...AND THE UPPER
DESERTS.

THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR

* PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
  AREAS...SAN BERNARDINO AND RIVERSIDE COUNTY VALLEYS-THE INLAND
  EMPIRE...APPLE AND LUCERNE VALLEYS...ORANGE COUNTY COASTAL
  AREAS...ORANGE COUNTY INLAND AREAS...SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY
  MOUNTAINS...SAN GORGONIO PASS NEAR BANNING AND SANTA ANA
  MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS...RIVERSIDE COUNTY MOUNTAINS.

* FROM 10 AM PST THIS MORNING THROUGH MONDAY EVENING

* HEAVY RAIN WILL OCCUR AT TIMES FROM NOON THROUGH EARLY EVENING
  TODAY...MAINLY BELOW 6500 FEET. PERIODS OF SHOWERS...SOME WITH
  HEAVY RAINFALL WILL FOLLOW FOR TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY...MAINLY
  BELOW 4000 TO 4500 FEET. RAINFALL RATES COULD LOCALLY REACH OR
  EXCEED ONE INCH PER HOUR. THIS WILL BRING A RISK OF FLASH
  FLOODING. HEAVY RAINS OVER RECENT BURN SCARS COULD RESULT IN
  DEBRIS FLOWS AND MUD SLIDES. IN THE MOUNTAINS...A WARMER AIR
  MASS THIS AFTERNOON WILL RESULT IN RISING SNOW LEVELS AND
  MELTING OF SNOW BELOW 6500 FEET WHICH WILL INCREASE THE RISK OF
  FLOODING.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

  AREAS...COACHELLA VALLEY...SAN DIEGO COUNTY COASTAL AREAS...SAN
  DIEGO COUNTY DESERTS...SAN DIEGO COUNTY MOUNTAINS AND SAN DIEGO
  COUNTY VALLEYS.

* FROM THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY EVENING

* HEAVY RAIN WILL OCCUR AT TIMES FROM MID AFTERNOON THROUGH EARLY
  EVENING TODAY. PERIODS OF SHOWERS...SOME WITH HEAVY RAINFALL
  WILL FOLLOW FOR TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY...MAINLY BELOW 4000 TO
