...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 AM CDT FOR
NORTHWESTERN SANGAMON COUNTY...

AT 823 AM CDT...EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT REPORTED THAT PRAIRIE CREEK IS
OUT OF ITS BANKS AND FLOWING ACROSS ROUTE 125 JUST WEST OF ROUTE 97.
WHILE THE HEAVY RAIN HAS ENDED ACROSS THE WARNED AREA, DOPPLER RADAR
INDICATES THAT AS MUCH AS 3 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN FELL EARLIER THIS
MORNING.

SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
SPRINGFIELD...SHERMAN...SPAULDING...CANTRALL...CAPITAL AIRPORT...
FARMINGDALE AND SALISBURY.

THIS INCLUDES INTERSTATE 55 BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 101 AND 104.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TURN AROUND...DON`T DROWN WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS. MOST FLOOD
DEATHS OCCUR IN VEHICLES.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...COUNTRY ROADS...FARMLAND...AND OTHER LOW LYING
SPOTS.

PLEASE REPORT FLOODING TO YOUR LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY WHEN YOU
CAN DO SO SAFELY.
