...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1000 AM CDT FOR
LAFAYETTE COUNTY...

At 929 AM CDT, The rain has ended but some flooding continues, so
we`ll allow this warning to continue until it expires at 10 am.
Rainfall amounts ranged from about 1 1/2 inches in southern Iowa and
northern Lafayette counties to 4 to 6 inches in southwest Lafayette
county.

County law enforcement reported that the bridge in Darlington on
highway 23 was closed due to flooding.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Darlington, Shullsburg, Belmont, Benton, Argyle, Somers, Wiota, New
Diggings, South Wayne, Lamont, Gratiot, Platte Mounds, Lead Mine,
Leslie and Woodford.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
