* ARROYO AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR...
  SOUTHWESTERN QUAY COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL NEW MEXICO...

* UNTIL 145 AM MDT

* AT 1141 PM MDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  HEAVY RAIN DUE TO THUNDERSTORMS. ESTIMATED AMOUNTS OF ONE TO TWO
  INCHES OF RAIN HAVE ALREADY FALLEN WITH SLOW MOVING STORMS
  CONTINUING OVER THE ADVISORY AREA. THIS WILL LEAD TO EXCESSIVE
  RUNOFF INTO CHARCO CREEK...GARCIA CREEK...PARIS CREEK...THE PLAZA
  LARGA CREEK...APODACA CREEK...AND BLANCA CREEK BETWEEN THE CAPROCK
  AND TUCUMCARI.

* LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
  TUCUMCARI...QUAY AND MONTOYA.

THIS INCLUDES INTERSTATE 40 BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 311 AND 337.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO TELL HOW MUCH
WATER IS ON THE ROAD...DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FAST MOVING WATER OF
UNKNOWN DEPTH.

THE HEAVY RAINFALL AND SLOW MOVEMENT OF THESE STORMS MAY RESULT IN
FLOODING OF ROAD INTERSECTIONS AND LOW-LYING AREAS.  WATERS MAY
BEGIN TO RUN IN NORMALLY DRY ARROYOS.
