Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Interior Alaska
National Weather Service Fairbanks AK
330 PM AKDT Tue May 23 2017

.DISCUSSION...
Conditions will remain moist across the Interior over the
next several days with some drying expected this weekend. Another
round of showers and wetting rains are possible, especially west of
Fairbanks Wednesday into Thursday as a front moves over the area from
the west. Thunderstorm potential will be non-existent due to the lack
of instability over the area.

Strong Chinook winds are expected to develop late tonight and continue
into early Thursday morning, where wind advisories have been issued.
South winds 25 to 45 mph with gusts to 55 and 60 mph are expected near
Alaska Range passes. Near and south of Delta Junction winds will be
slightly weaker with winds sustained 20 to 35 mph and gusts to 50 mph.
Despite the strong winds, minimum RH values will remain near or above
30 percent.
